from existing traffic, if your click through rate is bad then optimize your keywords to help clickthrough percentage.
you can't really help get the traffic in the first place. it will either get a little or not at the moment. imo traffic will only go up in time for obvious reasons
different for developed domains obviously. could be the next step for one of your better ones? & bung on some adsense for mobis
development is best bet imo. the parked ones are there to get offers on, not to get rich from parking. not yet.. anyway .lol
cheers

Domainers, the only people that know about .mobi, don't like clicking on ads and their eyesight is not so good from staring at a monitor 12 hours a day. Surfing on a cellphone is difficult.

I reassure you, you are not alone!

I have around 400 dot mobi names, all based in single words, all parked at SEDO and I NEVER got 1 click.

The problem is not about the configuration of the page, it's simply that dot mobi get almost zero traffic today.

You could spend a few million promoting your .mobis. The .mobi people would be most appreciative. :)

Or, you can take your mobis and develop them.

I have a couple developed getting thousands of hits a month. And with AdMob as the ad source, I am making some pretty decent money on one of them.

In the meantime, Sedo is okay but NameDrive by far is the best. Their .mobi parked pages are 5/5 mobi compliant. I have been getting hits and some revenue since moving them to ND. Sedo was okay, I was getting several hits, and making some moola but much better at ND.

Parked was also good but they do not have mobi compliant parked pages and there were other issues with Parked deleting clicks and revenue at their discretion.

So, you don't need millions to promote. You just need to know where to park them while waiting to develop them. This is natural type in traffic. Good domains that are good keywords within themselves will get type in traffic.

You may not get rich off parking .mobi domains. But then again, this is only a few months old. Develop the domain into a site, then promote and cross promote.

Until they run for the hills. .mobi = memento.

Another good thing about developing and using AdMob, you have the option of eliminating many of the ad feeds.

I can go in the control panel and delete advertisers that are paying low cents per click. This will ensure more revenue over time when it is tweaked.

With the launch of one of my .mobi, 280 advertisers were bidding for space.

AdMob has a few bugs to iron out, I would love to see them add a mass edit or delete. For now, I have to scroll through the list each and every time I delete one and then start over on the same list. A little annoying, but a great example of what perhaps parking companies can be.

I do not know of any other parking company or ad feed that enables the user to approve or deny and delete ANY INDIVIDUAL advertiser from using the domain name. Very cool. Plus, why have ads appearing that pay 2 cents or 5 cents when I can have much higher (many 40-70 cents to nearly $2.00) PPC.

It seems to really empower the domain owner. This is not a parking program but it certainly should be a model for any parking progrom as well as advertising feeds like AdSense.

I have noticed that one of my .mobi names has had a spike in traffic recently and this has resulted in a few clicks too, I have it parked at ND and I agree with doc com that ND is the best for parking .mobi right now... Clicks are not paying the best, averaging $0.11 but that is not so bad, I guess...

Obviously developing is the way to go...

Doc com, can you give us a little more insight into admob? Is t costly, are there specific requirements, etc?

Thanks!

It cost nothing but it is not for parking. It is for active sites. It is an advertising feed.

Right, thanks... so it is like adsense for mobile?
Bingo! More sites and feeds are being developed and planned as this takes off big.

I have a name which is a keypad typo, I have it in both .mobi and .com - the .mobi has had 49 hits / 17 clicks / 34.69% ctr / $2.13 - the .com over the same period, zilch!!

Anyone make any sense of this, 'cos I can't!

This is from a post I made at np earlier today.

To me, this says the traffic is from SEs - if it were type-in, it would be the other way round. The question is, how do I check which search engines are listing the names...?

or submit them to search engines, directories, do link exchanges with fellow .mobi developers & get backlinks on all your own sites...oh, just like my other websites ;) & not pay a bean

i'll let the backers/sponsors of mobi spend the money & the big boys joining the fray every day :approve:

Amen, Brother Pred!

Let the biggest of the Big Brother spend their millions (you hang on to yours) promoting and branding .mobi into the consciousness of the masses of our cellular brethren on this spiritual awakening and we shall therefore ride the great wavelengths in the heavens down to the lowly teen queen with the earbud upon her ear whereupon we shall implant the the vision of a new fangled way of meeting up with her sisters to choose and select which pizza parlor to go to, the direction of her salvation to the movie theater to see the latest chick flick, and then onward to fellowship of "where the boys are" so they can meet up with the flock at the local pub to get their buzz on and then procreate the earth.

What a rush!

.mobi is not going to get any typein traffic, and itmay never change. Same thing is with many exptensions, including .info which is arguably one of the best extensions. For these the only solution at this point is to develop. The interesting thing I noticed about .mobi development is that the field is wide open still. I mean take any topic you want and you can build the best mobile site in the industry for this particular topic. This happens due to very small amount of .mobi domains developed. For example you can see in my signature
one of the developed mobies I got. Right now the site is getting 400 visitors a day, and it is growing. My directory has 163 thosand pages, and it is the largest in my area, and there is no site that can compete with mine for mobile users in my particular area. My point is that parking the names is good, but as you know the money is in development, and I surprised how is it is to grab niches in mobile industry. Hopefully pretty soon will be much more ways to monitize mobile traffic, and much more tools on the market such as content management systems to create mobile websites
