How does godaddy's buy domain service payout?

I had someone buy a name through godaddys buy domain service and was wondering what information they use to payout? The info in the godaddy.com account or the registrant whois? I hope its not the latter as i realized after pushing the domain to them that the registrant info is all messed up from transfering it previously.
