I just upgraded to the 25Mbps plan for broadband, from my original 6.5Mbps speed. DNF seems to be downloading fast enough. What is the fastest speed (download) you are connecting with DNF>

My broadband (always on - flat rate) is running at around 75kbps. It was running at around 40kbps until I upgraded from the 100 package to the 200 package.

My supplier says it should be averaging a bit more - something like 135kbps.

There again, I am in the Peruvian jungle. I'm thankful that I now have a 75kbps speed rather than dial up of 40kbps paying by the minute.

Wow, does DNF load fast for you? It's now almost instantaneous for me here.

Yeah. LOL.

I just did a couple of tests and it took longer than I thought for the home page to load - between 20 and 30 seconds.

A month ago that would have probably been 40 to 60 seconds.

As I normally have 10-20 windows on the go at any time, the loading time of the main page isn't TOO important for me.

I am using wireless in my home, and DNForum loads really fast for me.

Wow, you have some great theoretical speeds there.
Despite being in the top tier of internet users we are playing catch up in the UK though maybe the bandwidth is better on average as I am only using 1/2 meg myself and the dnf page loads within 2 seconds (cache probably helps a lot).

Speed is not everything though, not over here. As I develop a lot of domains, what looks to download fast for a US market may be incredibly slow for the average UK user. One cannot assume everyone has enough power to handle heavy sites. Testing your own developed sites on your own 'fast' connection can be very misleading.

Broadband is reapidly spreading out to the outer rural areas in the UK so I would expect the majority of the country to enjoying a couple of megs on average within 2 years.

I don't often notice the Google ads at the bottom of the page, but did just now:

"Safe Herbal Mole Removal
Remove 8-12 Moles At Home Organic Herbal Blend, 1 Year Guar."
