How is it possible for visitors from a link to not be reflected in referrer stats?

A well known domainer recently started an Ad Network where you can place your ad on his site for a monthly fee. I signed-up and my ad appeared instantly and looks very nice on his front-page. When clicked the visitor is quickly forwarded to my URL index page. So far so good.

However, the traffic from the link never shows in the two stats programs I have installed as far as being in the referrer logs and also not apparently reflected in the daily vistor counts.

How do I know this? Both my stats programs reveal the name of the site where the visitor came from, in addition to uniques and total hits numbers.

Since I noticed right away there were zero visits from his URL I wondered why my own visits on day-1 did not get reflected in the stats. Therefore, I clicked my ad 10 to 30 times per day for next week from his site and not one visit was ever recorded from that URL. In addition, its likely others have also clicked my ad too but still zero in my referrer logs.

Does anyone have thoughts about how this is possible :?: I can think of no possible explanation after thinking about it a lot.

Redirects via HTTPS do not pass the 'Referer:' header.

If it's not redirected via https, feel free to PM me his domain name and yours, I will take a look.

The referrer is set by the browser so it can be omitted and it can be faked too :)
Opera even has an option to disable the referrer.
