Your perception is an artifact of the site you're using. You've already stated it shows only 20-30 sales per day. So... quit looking there! There are other sources substantially more complete.

[Mumbling something about horse and water as he exits the thread...]
Can you give examples?

Those are the websites that i have been following already.

What i would like to tell here is, tehe domains sales are OK for only premium domains which are regged by 90s. I mean the people who registered domains at 90s are earning the profit of what they did. The rest, I dont tink people are doing good money. Only there might be people that are buying domains for thoudsands of dollars and selling them, but that is a very risky business and needs very good capitall.

In conclusion, do you guys believe that this domaning biz is something that you can quit yourjob and make money with domains ? I am not taking account that you might have 100k to invest. Assume that you start with little money.

In forum, as i see there are many guys from USA. and if it was a dity and cheap sector, there wouldnt be so much usa guys. But i also count this on the premium domains are hold by most usa people.

Very few people make a living from domains. It's difficult to guarantee a steady flow of income in this business unless you have developed websites or are brokering domains for example.

The truth is that a few people make some extra income, but for many (most) it's a hobby or a money-losing venture. The industry is full of dreamers too. Also keep in mind that even though most sales are unreported, only a tiny fraction of registered domains do sell at some point. Unless you have really good domains, the odds of making a big sale are remote.

I sold four domains totaling over $100k none were ever reported to dnjournal and the reason is they as want all private sales they want to see your bank statements which to be honest nobody is gonna do...........so as long as dnjournal continue to ask for bank statements to prove the sale they will miss out all the private sales totaling millions of dollars each year.

Same here, I dont report sales period.

And I dont feel the need to report them to DNJ or anyone else, plus run the risk of them being indexed in the search engines. Also, when you sell a domain, you should respect the privacy of the buyer.. IMO.

I agree with EstateNIC DnF member and......
I MIGHT BE WRONG & OFTEN AM , BUT I TOO HAVE A FEW THOUGHTS REGARDING DOMAIN SALES VOLUME AND VALUES AT THE PRESENT MOMENT:

Like many goods, I feel a supply and demand issue exists.
I believe commercial generic domains stand on their own merits but the perceived value of a domain is mismatched between a buyer and seller today as the interested buyer's price expectation reflects a poor economy and not yesterday's value the domain would have fetched.
Another thought is the interest is very weak at the moment. I think holding domains instead of giving them away at bottom dollar will be rewarding similar to holding positions in the stock market until we get thru this recession as domains and stocks values will flourish again (Be optimistic, history shows this has happened several times before and now is the time to buy to sell later whenever possible) delivering rewards for these efforts and your patience.
I also wouldn't be surprised if many domains regarded as good and held for years are dropping at record levels as the registered domain owners' annual porfolio renewal costs can be challenging today because weaker domain sales volume and values are the result of reduced marketing budgets of companies cutting advertising costs.
I think when consumer goods experience weak sales, reducing exposure by reducing online marketing is the last thing any company should do! They should be taking advantage of relevent domains doing all they can to generate sales as the buyer ratio has shrunken for now.
