How many domains do you need to own to go full-time?

I've been thinking about this a lot with regards to my time investment vs Sell-Through Rate (STR).

Interested to know how many domains you need to hold for consistent enough domain sales. I've been told it's typically at least a few thousand.

the question has no definitive number or quantity of domains.
you could have several thousand domains, but if they are all crappy names.... then what?

quantity alone, does not equal success, nor is it a predictor of str.

there are too many variables, that apply to each individual, for anyone to state a generalization.

so best thing you can do, is strive for that, if that's your goal.

i didn't vote for any number
even if you had 5,000 domains, and all were "sellable", would you sell them all at once, a few a year or what?
then how much would have to sell each name for, to sustain the portfolio and pay living expenses,
ie: home, car, family, food, etc, etc.?

it's more than a notion to just select an arbitrary number.

i will admit it's possible, if one were to "scale-up" incrementally, along with their success rates.
as the more experience one has or accumulates along the way, the greater the possibility to reach some level of financial independence

I'm talking about short brandable domains you would find on SquadHelp, BrandBucket, Brandpa, Alter, etc.

These sell for between $2K - $5K typically.

brandables are not something one person can depend on, to deliver sales consistently.

next time, mention that you are talking about brandables in the beginning or whatever category in initial post.
it makes a difference.
