Cook: 300$ a year
Day servent(8 hours day , 6 days) 300$ a year.

Olebean, I'm not talking relative to the UK, USA etc - what I mean is a programmer in India gets 20% more than a Police Thief - sorry - Police Chief.

I don't know about India, but in Vietnam the salary of a police chief is only a part of the money he gets...

If the police recover your stolen car or motorbike, they'll expect up to 50% of the value as a finder's fee. And don't get me started on traffic police; most people here despise them and would never want to see a family member getting married to one of them, even though they are the most well-off of all police branches...

Hi,

I have seen in BBC that in Nigeria the traffic policemen are dancing while the regulate the traffic in order to survive with their salary.

Another case i have seen in a documentary concerning a factory in China packing saragaso.
800 workers.
400 SITTING
400 STANDING

All of them coming from the rural areas.

The 400 standing dreaming to be sitting workers.
There are all sleeping in the factory working 10 daily.
It not allowed to speak with your fellow worker.
Salary 1 or 2 $ /day
English speaking friends there is a lot of hunger around.
People are eating the most strange things (ants,mouse,cats,dogs,cucaracha,whatever the sun sees,etc) around to survive in ASIA.

very often what seems like strange things to eat to some is supposed to be a delicacy somewhere else.

specially in the chinese sphere, a lot of animals are considered to have medicinal properties when eaten (often related to men's health...just like pharma blockbusters anywhere else), and these are obviously expensive, rather than eaten to survive.

poor people are more likely to eat rice and grass than meat.

Sorry my friend, i eat pure olive oil,feta ,great greek salad and the best yougurt in the world for all my life.
I will never manage to see ,cocroach,mouse,ants and the like as delicacies.

In some very rural area of China, people are just earning RMB400 - RMB500 per year (approx. US$50 - U$60), and this annual US$60 would be used to feed and clothe the whole family (grandma, grandpa, wife, kids blah blah blah).

Maybe you should go there and have a look by yourself, then. Furthermore India is a very interesting country. Life is present everywhere. Especially in children's eyes.

Not only they survive , they also support family of 5-6 people.. but then all in family r working for same amount..

Construction worker ( Hard work like picking heavy stone and all) Cost 100 Rs a day for 8 hours ( 2.5$)



The gap between rich and poor is extreme as in any other country and also there is no Social security scheme in here.. But with so much FDI and like and 9% growth rate things seem to change.. Stock market is at the highest ever. land prices r going up like 20-25% a year..
