How much would you charge to advertise on your site if...

it gets 540,000 users per year
is a specialty niche
is growing annually
users keep returning

Ads would be

banner top (840x140 px)
banner bottom (840x140 px)

Ads would also be

Left menu

(see ad layout here)

Ad placement is key.

So how much would you charge if

you could target a specific audience in a specific state? (say, California)
an advertiser wanted to buy top banner or top left on each page (approximately 60)

I have to wrap up a project and proposal that I have been working on.

These are generalized comments so using this information, what would you charge?

By the way, it is a .com and is heavily used.

That's a pretty stacked ad layout for a site with content. I would not add a second row of banners, let alone a third. The bottom one is ok. On the left, stick to one ad as well. The dimensions are a bit non-standard but I suppose the artwork will be provided by the advertisers.

With roughly 1,450 daily visits you should be looking at between 20 to 40 clicks (I doubled the conversion of AdSense from a site with similar traffic I have). How much would you charge? Depends on the industry and the budget, also the number of rotating ads.

Thanks Theo

The mock up is a quick thing I put up for ad sizes.

And I would alter to stick to standard sizes.

Ads would not be stacked.

I would intersperse them with content, etc.

Again, just a rough sketch type thing on what I could get away with for ads and spaces.

Much work to be done but would like to wrap this up on this end.

Left menu is also the same type thing...just a rough idea of sizes.

Got a link to the "industry standards" for pricing?

Anything would help. Getting inquires and not sure how to respond.

g

I really appreciate the input.
