Hello all just a quick post to see if anyone knows how far we can develop these mobile websites.
I bought JPY.mobi the other day and i want to put a for-ex real time chart on the website, but i'm not sure if this is able to be done or if the mobile devices would be able to show it on their screens. Are there any websites you've seen with the foreign exchange rates on the site? If so can you please post the web address so i can have a quick look at it. Cheers Chris
I have a few sites working. simple, but functionable. Also working on another but its in its patenting process. Once i get the patent stamp, ill tell you the site.
You can make live/ real-time charts of market rates by using Ruby (rhtml).
Original, dynamic, easy to navigate & interesting content is whats needed, and is possible with PHP,Flashlite and Java.
I'm seeing an increasing amount of 'developed' .Mobi's with nothing much more than pages full of links to other 'developed' .Mobi's, hopefully as more people become aware of what development tools are avaliable this'll change in time....
Mobile technology is moving along very fast ie:-
I agree. bmw.mobi, etc sites just look static. i kinda stopped working on my pc site (below) which teaches you the available technologies available for mobile devices, but got kind of busy with my job. but yea, just need time to get the sites developed.
Build your sites for the future, not the present. The samsung f700 has a screen resolution of 440 x 240.
Users are going to want to see stylish sites of course. You can still use everything you learned about what users like on the usual 2 to 3 column page layout for a full sized website.
Think single column page layout and use your imagination.
Or flashlite using 240x240 pixel and hit mobile devices worldwide.
Do you have a list of all the phones screen size? Im looking for such list. Any information would be helpful.
