The domain I wanted to catch was at godaddy and GD failed to snap it

This service is not refundable so the best way just to use it for another one. But every time I am trying to do this I getting error mess

“Bad Request (Invalid URL)”

So I cant change the URL to backorder. Is anybody familiar how to do this right.

Can you post a screen shot of what you get?

Maybe you are adding www. or somthing like that?

I have no problems changing a backorder.

sounds like you could be adding www. or have the extension still in the text box. The extension should be chosen from the dropdown menu and not included with the word of the domain.

Hello, did you take the domain that failed to be caught off the monitor. You have to delete that backorder before you are able to use the credit for another backorder. Maybe this can be of some assistance.

As far as I know, this is not necessary.

I think there are two ways of changing a backorder.

One is the way you describe above.

The other is clicking on the "change" button and typing in the new domain.

I think both work.

But as mentioned earlier, the format of the domain has to be correct, ie no www. and no repeated extension.

If you are still having problems, Andrei73, a screenshot would probably help, but I hope you have managed to find a solution now.

Right. As far as I can see, you are doing things right.

That "Bad Request (Invalid URL)" message looks like a browser/URL request error.

ie the the page that is requested can't be given.

What browser and operating system are you using? Although this shouldn't really affect it. Maybe cookies switched off can affect it, but I'm getting out of my depth.

If you are able to ring godaddy.com support cheaply, I'm sure they will talk you through it and should be able to see what the problem is.

If you haven't tried bertwrld's suggestion yet, you could do that. ie remove the name altogether first (remove backorder). Then you should have one spare backorder to allocate. You might well get the same message though.

Another possibility would be to try on another (safe) computer.

I did one today and it worked fine for me, for the record.

are you 100% sure the domain does not have a backorder on it already?
