Try www.IDNTools.com , Unicode tools section probably.

IDNtools is definately the best resources, etc. hands down. Also great dictionaries and links.

Just to clarify what was said above...go to
1) Unicode Tools, then...
2) Puny Converter (to change punycode to script, or script to punycode)

You can then put into google.com with "quote" marks around work to get serp. Without quotes you don't get an accurate reading.

If your not used to looking at various scripts (and it doesn't take long to recognize most) easiest thing to do is just check the google extensions for the term in addtion to the .com, .net etc. to figure out the language..
.jp ext- Japanese
.cn ext- Chinese
.kr Korea
etc.

Or if you think you got a pretty good idea of language confirm at:
Google.com/translate
Click on your language combo, ie Chinese to English and double check.

To then see if your term is the "best" according to that dictionary, type the word in English, translate to "X" language your have confirmed your term to be in and compare the results for serp, trends, baidu, ovt, bids etc. where available.
If you have a discrepancy, you can compare terms at:
google.com/trends to see which term is more popular.

Actually all pretty easy once you do it a few times. Always best to then confirm translations and top terms with native speakers. Plenty of them around this forum and other IDNForums.
