I have started as a domain reseller a few weeks ago and after pumping advertising dollars into Google and Overture, I have had very disappointing sales. I was wondering what your experiences were as a domain reseller starting with a new site from scratch. Any tips and tricks? Is it still possible to be profitable in this business or is there too much competition already?

Welcome maniac!

I think it depends on what names you have, not that you just set up a new site.

Post the site URL here and maybe the members here can comment. :eek:k:

if i am right

so you are right as it became very competitive

unless you start with very big website and have a full time team working with you

you will be like of most of resellers killing each other for a damn customer:-D

Correct, I was asking about being a domain registration reseller, not about reselling domain names I already own.

Market it to a niche.

You dont have to compete with $10 or under pricing..

Look @ NSI.
Thier site design is very good and they make it look as if you are going with the company that is most reliable and getting the most possible for your money (over $8.95 @ godaddy etc).

Target it to the small business owner. That's what I would do.

Charge $15-$50 imo.

Use personal contacts as well, if you have any.
