Most domainers consider domains with backlinks a Liability in that the traffic and revenue (if any) are residual to what was there before and will likely drop off.

So buying a domain based on CURRENT revenue or traffic is almost certainly a mistake. They will likely offer far LESS than what the stats show as they determine how long it will take for the loss to actually bleed off completely.

Pure "natural" traffic for example, may get paid out to 5 or more years while residual traffic may only pay to a single year.

Like anything, it's risk to reward... and betting on declining, rather than increasing, traffic... is high risk.

Good luck!

The traffic from the old websites will likely die off eventually, which means it's not much of a factor.

If the name is generic it might also be getting natural type ins, but that's hard to say without seeing your names.

If the names are generic, or look like a good brandable made up word, or a name that could be a good name for a business, it might have value beyond just the traffic. I'd like at dnjournal.com sales reports and see the lists of sold names, that should give you a good comparison.
