I recently bought a 3 letter .com and got today the 5th request for selling it.

My intention is not sell it, but to develop it. Nevertheles, I would sell it if some day someone offers a good load of money. Can I just quote rediculess prices? Or should I be somewhat carefull with my reply's back in my words and in the hight of $$ ?

One of the first guys emailing me was a company with the same anchonym letters

Ps. There is just a "coming soon" message on the site.

Best answer " Not for sale " . If someone is truly interested they will end up making an offer regardless. If they can walk away straight off I would gather they were not ever truly interested.

I thought there were also some rules, that if such company/induvidual asks me first, it will/should stay clear from any URDP/WIPO claims?

Not that I am aware of, if anything the fact you give a price and negotiate is generally used against you or I should say they try to use it against you. Successful or not it's not a good thing at any rate. If you think it may be their motive than simply state " not for sale '.

ok, thanks for the quick reply, they would not trigger a price that I am willing to sell anyway :)

So now 6 months later, a vice precident of some small bank emailed me. Any suggestions how to handle this?

Some "facts"
-I not need money
-it was not bought to speculate
-it still has "coming soon" message, release planned before Q1 2010 (already spend > 2000 man hours on developing)

I am not willing to let it go for 1xx.xxx

ideas, suggestions, manuals, broker recomondations, anything welcome....

Your *not* willing to let it go for something in the 100k range? Well, you'll probably be holding on to it for a long while. Sales like that for 3 letter domains are very few and far inbetween. If you don't need the money and want a boatload to sell it, just say its not for sale.
