Wanted: Service .htaccess 404 re-write HELP

hello, i'm looking for example code for htaccess rewrite ... any time someone accesses a 404 page on my site, i want them redirected to a specific url on my site ... surely this is possible?!

THANKS TO both Johnn and jdk - amazing i was looking all around for this simple code and for some reason i could not find it, maybe it was lost in all the mess and my eyes got blurry!!
