Each of these names listed have huge traffic numbers (several are in the thousands) but very little conversion.

Obviously, site development potential.

In the meantime, these are parked at sedo.

I have exhausted all obvious search term keywords.

Looking for suggestions of keywords or site material:
Note: These names are not for sale and stats not posted:

Example: Take a domain like MangaHentai.org
Can you set financial keywords on that name???

I know you think this is stupid because a guy searching for manga don't click a financial/medical link.

But I've tried a couple of times this method and worked a little.

I'm not crazy, this was a test I've done in past and 3 times of 10 it works a little.

The only real alternative is develop a minisite on.

Where the traffic coming from the most?

Most on this list are aged domains, some former websites, many still with active links.

Some are so obvious with keyword rich search words.

I am also believing that consumers are getting smarter at recognizing a landing page.

Do you have any idea what the traffic really is - if it's "real" visitors. I've had some names like that which, when putting them on a "real" web site as a test and reading the logs, showed that a lot of traffic was hotlinking to images and similar from other sites like forums, images that of course didn't exist any more on my domains. (At least for a name such as MangaHentai org that is a real possibility.) Of course such traffic will never convert no matter what you do, since they never really visit the domain...

That is quite possible, especially for domains that were former sites.

The oddity about MangaHentai org is this was a fresh hand reg several years ago, has never been a site, and gets an incredible amount of traffic for a .org.

Visitor Origin Time Period: (since inception)
Mexico 20.2 %
America (South) 13.6 %
Spain 12.6 %
Peru 11.7 %
Chile 10.6 %
Argentina 10.4 %

One thing I am not clear about is this...

Sedo's log shows Top Referrers.

http://google.com.mx/search?hl=es&q=mangahentai.o...
http://google.com.mx/search?hl=es&q=mangahentai.o...
http://google.es/search?hl=es&q=mangahentai.org&b...
http://google.com.pe/search?hl=es&q=mangahentai.o...
http://google.es/search?hl=es&q=mangahentai.org&m...

From these files, it appears that all these searches are HAND ENTERED search results, something bots can not do.

I will say this...looking at these results promoted me to look up MANGA in the spanish language vs Japanese. Naturally, we are talking about the difference of a

Japanese Comic Book

and

a women's sleeveless blouse...

same word, different meaning.

manga sustantivo femenino

1.
1. (de abrigo, blusa) sleeve;
sin ~s sleeveless;
de ~ corta/larga short-sleeved/long-sleeved;
en ~s de camisa in shirtsleeves;
tener (la) ~ ancha to be tolerant o lenient
2. (capa de jerga) (AmC) poncho

Hi :)

I know you said "exhausted all obvious search term keywords"

but have you tried these at other parking places other then sedo?

As you said also that "consumers are getting smarter at recognizing a landing page"

which I agree so maybe something alittle more like noomle/whypark.

Good luck and I hope you find a way to convert :yes:

Good questions.

Yes, I have tried these at other parking companies. Four of them, as a matter of fact.

The results were pretty much the same...flat conversion.

I'll try a few more things, such as a basic search for the person to enter their search term.

I also need to look at the not-so-obvious, as I mentioned. Manga is a popular Japanese anime-like book. But, to Spanish speakers this is a garment. Since I changed keywords, the results for MangaHentai dot org have been:

426
11
$0.29

Nothing earth shattering but better than zero conversion. Traffic will typically be a couple thousand per month, impressive for a dot org.

this may have worked a little for you, but this is one reason why kw values drop.

forcing non related kw terms on domains where there is no obivious connection can also get you kicked from a ppc service, if that is your m.o.
(not saying it is)

some domains just will not have viable "product or service" related keywords for them.
if they had a past website, then that content may never have been utilized for profit or to generate income.

Doc, i think we talked in the past about using namedrive specifically for that reason, when we couldn't find suitable kw that would increase conversion rates.

Yup, we did. ND is much better than the Search landing page at Sedo (at least in appearance).

About 2-3 years ago, I did a lander myself. It was simply a search box and asked people to please enter what they are looking for in order to better serve them.

The entries were sent directly to my email box.

ymii dot com was one of those high traffic names with zilch for conversion. Using my search box, I was able to determine what people were looking for:

Your Man In India

This was a popular search for virtual office assistant.

Since May 2007, it has been the number one money maker each month with the exception of two months.

So, there are many options. And the search box seems to work best in many cases.

Sometimes those results are written in Chinese (on ND) but still worth the effort.

Most of these names have been on Sedo, Parked, ND, Fabulous, and some on Bodis.
