I am looking at a hyphen domain.
Its a 2 word word1-word2.com.
The phrase word1 word2 got over 2 million searches on overture.

Is around $3500 a insane price for a hyphen?
Im thinking of developing it.

$3500 isnt insane price if the domains is real good with hypen for ex : black-jack.com Las-vegas.com can be worth the money.. Hard to say with out knowing the domain, but think it over before you spending such a big amount!
Good luck,

The answer is simply no. The price is NOT insane. You base a domain's value on the name and its traffic. Clearly, it has both nicely.

Hyphen domains are great, and in fact, have proven to be "better" ranked in search engines indefinately for search terms. Hyphenized domains combine two search terms, which help optimize your site for a search engine if the site linked to the domain is relavent. :)

That's what I look for these days: hyphen domains if they're phrases are good keywords. :)
