Word up. These cars are totally sweet, I love them...I had a SS car on order @ 2k UNDER sticker price (believe it or not), it was the gorgeous metallic blue/green color with tan leather fully loaded with everything & polished 20" wheels and all that jazz but I cancelled my order because you can only order it WITH Onstar which totally sucks huge monkey balls, almost as much as google & mark monitor...but not quite. Oh well, guess I'll just stick to buying the classics with no big brother in the passenger seat! For those that don't know, Onstar is the devil. :eek:k:

Onstar is sweet to have. Not sure why you care if someone knows where your car is at unless you are doing something you are not supposed to do. :?:

Ummm...ok dude. I want someone watching where I am 24/7 (which is saved indefinitely at a data center) & tracking my driving speed, having the ability to open my car doors, roll down my windows, listen to my business conversations in my car or if I'm on the phone in my car which could potentially be about very valuable domain info or God knows what, maybe something private about sex or whatever..the list goes on. That's f*cking crazy dude..you have no idea how invasive Onstar is obviously and the fact that they are now FORCING you to have it in your vehicle is beyond all logic other than big brother calling the shots. (bailout condition?) Your vehicle VIN # is attached to your social security #, etc. etc you stay on "the grid" everywhere you go. I am a diehard GM fan but NO THANK YOU to Onstar/govt spy in my car everywhere I go dude..I know at least a dozen people not buying a chevy right now because of this issue. (same thing with Corvettes) You do not have to "activate it" or even subscribe to the service..it's always on and it stays on, I used to sell cars and I know the service very well. They even report vehicles for "wreckless driving" and excessive speeds to police...you can research more in google about it, it's a major issue of concern from buyers with GM. You used to be able to order a car through the fleet ordering system and use the Onstar delete code but not on the Camaro, it's integrated into the vehicles safety/airbag system and from what I understand the car won't work without it as they made sure to build the Onstar into the car's computer system. With corvettes you can disable it although it's a pain in the a$s. Someone paying 40k for a new Camaro SS should be able to make their own decision about wanting Onstar in their private personal vehicle for Christ's sake! Soon they will have Onstar in your brain!

I simply detest the comment about "must be doing something you are not supposed to do" that is total BS, it's called basic human rights to privacy and being able to drive down the road without being on some map in a data center monitoring your every movement. This is not Russia or China, we live in the USA..right?

Spell it with me....

F-R-E-E-D-O-M

Either you have it, cherish it, & hold onto it or they WILL take it away! F*ck that and F*ck Onstar.

Damn Chris, my statment was a joke, forget I said it.

I have had onstar on all of my chevy/gm cars for years. I have gone way to fast several times, said stop shit in my truck, told secrets and yet, I still haven't seen the FBI knocking on my door or had the name I was talking about in my trucked regged before I got home. Maybe they do listen, maybe they don't, I am not paranoid or really don't give a damn about it. They have helped me out when I rolled my truck, got police there without me even having to call on my cell phone(which I couldn't find). So give me onstar all the time.

Nice lookin' car for sure. It's about time they did some justice to the Camaro, the 1993–2002 design was so ugly.

Very nice looking car, I would love to have one. But, besides that look, is it *good* at driving? I've never driven an American sport car and in Europe they aren't quite good ranked.

The US stopped making good cars back in the mid 70s. All you have to do is close the door on a new BMW or Mercedes, then close the door on an American car. The contrast in that experience alone will quickly tell you which car you would rather be in an accident in.

Ah, is it so bad? Then it's a pitty because that Camaro looks well.

Last good looking car GM made before this one was the G-body Monte Carlo. 1987-1988's are my fave ;)

The new Camaro is totally awesome for sure, minus the Onstar. :eek:k:
