Recently I received an email regarding the accuracy of whois information in regards to icann. I was wondering if it would be an issue to use "Name Administrator" as the Registrant, and Administrative Contact.

Example of Registrant and Administrative Contact:

Administrator, Name
Company
24 Main St
Chicago, Illinois 60607
United States
3574595045 Fax -- 3574595045

This one is legit. It is from Godaddy and gives the following.

Click on the "ICANN Domain Confirmation" icon at the top of the page+
You will be taken to a landing page and asked to enter your Domain Information Key:

They give you a key to enter while on the godaddy site.

Got one from GD. I copied the ICANN #, logged out and closed the browser. Shortly thereafter, I reopened a browser and logged in normally and pasted the # in the ICANN box. Paranoid here!

I will try and answer your question, since I think others missed your real question.

I see Tons of other that either have a company name or This Domain Is For Sale etc.

Does this mean it's Legal or correct? I wouldn't take the chance. If you are worried about somebody seeing your name, use privacy.

Depends on your registrar. Ask them.
