Just read in dnjournal's lowdown section that a group representing big companies is asking ICANN to stop or delay the release of new tld's next year, mainly because it already costs companies a lot of money to defend their TM's, do defensive domain reg's, etc. I can totally see this argument. The other good point is are new tld's even needed right now, with all the global tld's and country code domain that exist already?
