I opened a webstore (my sig) a month or so ago. Tried Adwords for a week - average cost $.65/click. Conversion rate seemed way too low to continue - just 1 sale from 200 paid clicks . Products are well-priced and I think the storefront is attractive and easy to use.

I'm working SEO every day - slowly getting uniques through search engine referral, but only 7-10 a day. I need to get the word out about the site - without breaking the bank.

Any ideas out there that you can share?

Assuming the website you are trying to increase visibility is accucor.com as in your signature, publicity could be one way. Send samples of some or one or more of your more interesting products to local tv stations or newspapers with lots of info describing the product. They may pick up on one of items, and run a story on it. If it is a good story, national may pick it up. Donate some products like the pepper spray to a local battered women's shelter or local neighborhood watch group. Post on blogs of the various types related to survival and personal defense products, and maybe have a contest drawing of one of the better products in your catalog with the winner being from the first 5,000 persons who provide their name and email address and request more information about your products, etc. which has an added benefit of building a customer mailing list. Yes all of these ideas involve expenditure but you have to spend money to make money. Hope this helps a little.

If I am a visitor to your site looking for one of your products, I may ask...

Who am I buying this from?
Who is behind this website?
Is this website safe to buy from?
Where is the guarantee?

If you are REAL BUSINESS...

Get toll free # and prominently show on top of the page.
These days, you can get toll free # for few bucks.

Register with BBB and display BBB logo

Get one of those trust logo such as "VeriSign" and display it on your site.

Get review from your customers and show it!
If you don't have one, get it from your friends and associates if you must.

My personal taste - I would remove that man image on your logo.
To me, such image belong on cartoon related website, not on business or store website.

Note:
People will NOT buy it from your site if they CAN'T trust you or your site ;)

Might try posting on forums where people discuss these types of items and mention particular products where you are cost-competitive.

I've updated the site - can you tell me if you think this is better? I wanted to get it cleaned up before I start pushing marketing efforts.
