Dont buy just because estibot or valuate appraises it at that.

Are there lots of end users who maybe interested is what you should focus on.

Typical end users dont ever or very rarely ask about the traffic or appraisal they just want a good keyword domain for their business. IMO

There is no simple answer. Yes, you can hand-reg a domain and sell it for hundreds or thousands within a year--if it's a good name. But also ... Estibot appraises some domains for $2,000 that nobody in this forum would buy from you for $10. It definitely depends on the name.

if estibot says a domain is worth >=$2000 does that mean I should buy it? Even if its a handreg at $10?

you'd have to ask yourself....

if the bot was on target, then why doesn't bot reg those names and resell at "half" the appraisal value?

that would surely illustrate the confidence in the algo and the results they deliver

then too, you should look at the commercial viability of the domain, or have an idea of business model for it

if you can't think of one, then what use would it be to another?

still, there are unregistered names that may have potential for resell, but don't just rely on automation for making that decision

^ stop being cynical. if they were to reg highly valued appraised domains, there wouldn't be any domains left for others, which would be a disservice to it's users.

Not Exactly, as those domains could be advertised for sale in the agg

so you'd still get "service"

and if some of those names sell anywhere close to previously appraised values prior to registration by bot, then they could point back to that as reference, which would boost credibility.

hmmmm......

If estibot were smart, it would reg all the high valued names and make tons of money. Forget about the service lol.

First of all, never ever register a domain that you wouldn't develop.
Domain sales are more the exception than the norm, it's likely going to rest on your hands, especially if you're a beginner.

In fact there is no shortage of 'decent' domains. That is, domains that actually make sense and are viable even for professional use.
However, not every decent domain has the potential to sell. That's where experience helps to pick the right domains.
