This was posted on another forum by a member, im not sure if its been posted here and im not sure if this is the right section but when i heard this audio clip i was blown away. Please listen.

In my opintion it should be "We'll resolve any issue to your complete satisfaction, aslong as you dont own a datacenter"

Yeah but its not just godaddy every other hosting company is the same if anything like that occurs,i got permantly suspended because of so called spamming even though i never sent one email out,they are all the same and the best part is only three people complained.

So if you have a vendatta against somebody just get a few mates to complain to the hosting company and theyt will shut your entire network down !

Maybe they could change their slogan to "satisfaction guaranteed or your money back" --nah, they would go broke in a month.

Bulldog, did you listen to the audio clip? im asking because to me what you said is totally irelivent to what this thred is about, yes i agree with you on the spamming issue, but GoDaddy over stepped the mark on this, they had no rights what so ever to suspend this guys account, if there is a spamming problem it should be dealt with by the host company, which the guy said he shut the clients machine down, the registrar should ONLY step in if the datacenter couldnt do anything about it or if it was an extreme case of spamming.

GoDaddy is the "competition" for me, of course, so please understand that even with that said, I have to side with them on this one.

Someone was using this domain for PayPal phishing. GoDaddy followed their policy and shut down the domain. The guy calling was hysterical and overreactionary, even when GoDaddy offered to turn it back on. Bottom line, the domain was used for phishing and the hosting company that owned the name did precious little about it, from all the public info.

Of course, I'm neither at GoDaddy or the hosting company, so I can only go off of what's public - but the information posted on NANOG makes it quite clear that GoDaddy did everything in their power to resolve this issue and the guy calling (Marc) was over-the-top.

My two cents, my personal opinion.

I agree with Cambler, the guy calling went over the top.GoDaddy did nothing wrong in my opinion.

I cant listen but if it was used for phising and they had proof then I think it should have been pulled.

phising is not spamming

lol. They suspended his domain which in turn suspended his name servers, which suspended his datacenter =]

Cambler, must have missed this : ..., even when GoDaddy offered to turn it back on. Was there a follow up? ( well, my son was calling at the same time for some food, so maybe I did not hear it )

Whatever, site works, so that seems to be sorted.

BUT, coming back to the thread title, this has nothing to do with a normal GD account. I am biassed though, having most of my domains with them.
