Ha!

I've received a more cunning email a while ago:

Dear ...:
We are Shanghai Chooke Network Information Technology Co., Ltd, which is the domain name register center in China.I have something need to confirm with you.
We have received an application formally, one company named "Tengda (China) Investment Co.,Ltd" applies for the domain names(www.MYDOMAIN.cn www.MYDOMAIN.com.cn etc.) ,and the Internet keyword(MYDOMAIN) on the internet June 25, 2008. We need to know the opinion of your company because the domain names and keyword may relate to the copyright of brand name on internet.
we would like to get the affirmation of your company, please contact us by telephone or email as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,
Alex.Tao
Tel: +86-21-62416070
Fax: +86-21-62597835
Email:[email protected]
Shanghai Chooke Network Information Technology Co., Ltd
website:www.chooke.com.cn

And this is their 2nd email:
...,

According to our investigation,We knew you have registered the domain name "MYDOMAIN.com" and own the intellectual property / own the trademark "MYDOMAIN", this is why we informed you. But now this company wanted to apply for other domain names and internet keyword you have not registered yet. This company wants to apply the following domain names and internet keyword:
1. Domain Name
MYDOMAIN.cn
MYDOMAIN.com.cn
MYDOMAIN.net.cn
MYDOMAIN.hk
MYDOMAIN.tw
MYDOMAIN.asia

2. Internet Keyword
MYDOMAIN

You must know Domain name takes open registration(Unrestricted), this is international domain name registration rule. So everyone has right to register them(available domains). As a domain name registrar, we have no right to dispute their application. So inform your company to protect your interest. But as the company whose trademarks relate to the applied domains, you will get the priority to register these domain names.

If you have business in asia or you want to develop business in asia in the near future, so I think these domain names are very important for you! Of course, each company has their own idea. If you don't think their application will affect your company, you can give up, we will finish their registration. But if you think these domain names are useful for your company, we can send an application form and register procedure to you and help you register them within dispute period. This is the only way to prevent domain name grabber. Pls let us know your decision soon, so that we can handle the next step.

These rats send me a mail 3 minutes ago:

"3500. Ok.
Do you sell domain with a web site or just the name?

Domain without content is ok with me. Web site is not necessary.

Have you had your domain names evaluated in the past? I mean domain
appraisals. Without valuation we cannot be sure in the sale price. It's very
important for me in terms of reselling too. But we must engage a valuation
company with REAL manual service. So I will only accept valuations from
independent sources I and my partners trust.

To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal
companies.

Please check this blog with suggestions from other sellers and buyers:
http://webtalk.007sites.com/Archive/482751.htm

If, for example, the valuation comes higher you can adjust your asking price
accordingly. It will be fair. I also hope you can give me 12% - 15%
discount.

After you send me the valuation via email (usually it takes 1-2 days to
obtain it) we'll continue our negotiations.

What is your preferred payment method: Escrow.com, International wire
transfer, PayPal.com or something else?

Hope we can come to an agreement fast.

Regards,
Gary Crutcher
Vice President
Elite Network"

Tell them you know a top notch appraiser who usually charges 1k, but will charge only $250 provided the buyer pays. BTW the appraisers code name is Fab.

These are as bad as the ones from moron "SEO" companies. They always seem to send them for domains I own that are parked, but they assure me that they can get my "website" to the top of google...

To the owner of blahblah.info,
I specialize in getting sites listed at
the top of Google in organic listings.

You don't have to pay me anything upfront.
I work on performance only. If I get your listing, I get paid.

If you have two forms of valid payment and
good business standing. I can waive a
$250 deposit which means you could get
started with me at no charge.
I only bill you if you get results.

I was wondering if you could get back with me as soon as possible. I look forward to working
with blahblah.info.

Then you're really going to love this particular scam: http://www.isellpagerank.com/highpr.htm

Apparently a link from a PR9 site is worth $1,200....
