If case some of you do not go to other forums, it is worth mentioning the .IM governing body actaully did something you don't see too ofter in the domain world, they saw an error on thier part and corrected it.
Briefly, lawyer.im was challenged by an IOM law firm and prevailed, the firm was awarded the domain.
The domain owner filed an unofficial appeal (you must pay $500.00 to have an appeal heard, he paid nothing). Well th governing body for .IM read the appeal and made it into an official ppeal (without payment) and deemed that the original ruling was in error and denied the complaint on appeal. They had further suggested they would be reviewing their procedures to ensure such actions would not happen in hte future. And here is the kicker... A representive from from .IM posted on the board to clear up mattters and to give what amounts to an apology.
To put this into perspective, if the original ruling would have stood, .IM domains parked would be subject to loss and viewed and abusive registration. And the requirements for claiming a mark was very vague. Plus they is no fee to challenge a domain (but yet, you need to pay on appeal). This left a serious door open which would have undermined the viability on .IM as an international presence.
