Hey Leon,

What is your opinion on CB Goliath (auto blog for CB affiliates). I got it free in a PLR Resell membership & just thought I'd try it on a niche site a couple days ago... considering more sites. I'm a dash hesitant on auto bloggers. I've made commissions on/off over the years via Clickbank via just regular website links & some other promotional methods.

Auto-blogging good? Bad? Somewhere in-between?

Quality content will always be king.

But I do use WP-Robot on some of my sites (Never used CB Goliath). I like to go with the best and I think WP-robot is the best so far. I only use autoblogs for the purpose of link building rather than to make money.

Here's my strategy, use quality unique content as pages and use autoblog on posts. Always use TheBestSpinner to spin your posts. Use a link building plugin to link keywords from the posts to your other sites. And of course do all the other on-page SEO stuff.

I'm actually writing a quick case study on duplicate content, autoblogs, 1 page websites, and 1 month old websites. I'll post a link here when it's ready.

$100k is not difficult at all last year. Before Apr 25th, this year (penguin 1.0). It's damn easy to fool google.

How's the ranking after penguine 3.0?

You still use wp-robot today?

Wp-robot is always in my toolbox, but mostly for link building purposes. I always use autoblog to build links to my money sites. And traffic that creates a sale is just bonus money.

Of course, like others, I've got hit. Earnings are down, but I keep building new sites and continue to take back my loss rankings.

Hi Leon,

What's your thoughts on "Angela & Paul" style backlinks? (Backlinks from sites where the root domain is high PageRank, PR7 or PR8, but the actual link placement is on a newly generated user profile page with no backlinks or PageRank).

Everyone reckons that since Penguin these are the way to go, and are busy setting up profile pages on Bing, Mozilla, Microsoft, Disqus, Adobe, Flickr, etc, but I'm not convinced. Can backlinks on an unknown, unranked page that you just created out of nowhere really provide you with "backlink juice", just because the root domain is authoritative, or is this just Fools Gold for newbies?

Also, what are your thoughts on backlinks from sites that have "lingering" PageRank? What I mean is, everyday sites that have genuine PR5 or PR6 get closed, change domain or extention, or change hands. The backlinks dry up and get removed, but since the PageRank doesn't update for 6 months, Google will continue to show them as genuine PR5 or PR6, even though they have no backlinks. Even though these sites will probably drop to PR0 when the next update happens, they are currently PR5 or PR6, so are they worth placing backlinks on? Does Google still see these as PR6 backlinks, or does it see these as redundant "soon to be PR0 backlinks"?

Any thoughts?

Profile backlinks from authority sites are always good to have. It's also good to mix it up with forum backlinks, blogs, social networks, wiki sites, article sites, social bookmarks, etc.

In regards to "lingering" pagerank, nobody can predict what the next pr update will do for a site. So if you can get a backlink for free now, what's the harm? If you are buying pagerank text link, and you know the site for example have pagerank 6, but have no backlinks as seen at google. Then don't buy them. But if its free like on a profile page, go for it. Hope this helps.

The best kinds of backlinks are always from powerful authority sites, edu sites, goverment sites, and high pagerank pages.
These are high quality and not easy to obtain and may be costly if purchased.

Some free method to get some of these backlinks for free: blog commenting (on high pagerank posts) and guest posting comes to mind.

I have a website that dropped out of the rankings (from top 3) for the relevant keywords on 26-28 Sept and I have no idea why. Could you help me out with this?

Cheers
