Each Friday I will post a poll and tally up the results to see how everyone responded ... Here's the question for today:

If the letters were randomly selected, would you rather own (3) LLL.net, or (1) LLL.com? why?

... :?:

1 lll.com

That is of course, the .nets weren't something along the lines of buy.net, car.net or sex.net.

Thanks for the responses so far ... So I'm thinking the three .net vs one .com isn't the hot ticket, although would your decision be strickly monetary-based? If so isn't there a chance that the (3) .net would bring you much more money in the long run (depending of course).

;-)

On average (going from minimum values):

3 x LLL.net's = 3 x $800 = $2400

1 x LLL.com = 1 x $4000 = $4000

Simple really :) It may be a bit different if it was 4 or 5 LLL.net's, although not for only 3 :)

If random I would choose .com by a factor of five. But I love .nets too.

I didn't know we had changed the name of this site from DNForum.com to DNSpace.com :p

As for your question, I will take .com over three (or even five) .nets

i'd take lll.com but not by a huge margin. 1 pull on the .com slot machine vs. 3 pulls on the .net slot machine = bigger jackpot at lower odds, + higher average ROI, vs. lower jackpot at higher odds, + lower average ROI.

since initial investment in this case is zero, where-ever the average ROI's equal out (4 .nets?, 5 .nets?) do you prefer to have 1 spin at the .com jackpot, or 4 or 5 spins at the .net jackpot?

whenever the ROI for 'x' .nets > ROI for 1 .com, does anyone still play for the super mega .com payout?

I would choose the .Net! Because I would have more chances of getting a good letter combination, especially since the domains would be free. Also if I end up with a TM domain I would still have two others left, lol.

The LLL.com all the way! I like my 17,576 to 1 odds of getting sex.com (millions $$$'s) or the like rather than 17,576 to 3 odds of getting sex.net ($xxx, xxx).
