I don't think it would be hard to create a program to read the numbers from an image file.

but seriously, some characters look like an o or 0 , or like 1 or I. I hate refreshing that stupid page 3 times before I can check it...

Maybe I should stop drinking ? :)

lol.

i'll work on fixing the letters, but i don't think i used any ZEROS
when making the screwy characters, so always assume an "o"
for something that looks like a 0.

if you can see the letters, then you're not that drunk. glasses
might help though :-D

just an update for those of you guys using domainsnaps.com
and snaps.com.

both of those services are showing invalid snap results.
cheapsnaps.com is the only one (out of those 2) currently
getting live data from the snapnames servers.

ex:
sex.com

---> domainsnaps.com: snap available
---> snaps.com: snap available

---> snapnames.com: snap unavailable
---> cheapsnaps.com: snap unavailable

if you order a snap within the next 72 hours (or longer) from
any of the two non-working snap resellers, make SURE you
check to see if the snap was added to your account.

happy hunting!

There are programs/scripts that can see those images?

Since when?

I thought the point was to stop scripting..
It aint stored in teh HTML is it?

For the lay person yes. While voice recognition has it's flaws so does image recognition technology. Anything a human can do a computer can be programmed to do or will be able to do soon. Question is how smart is the programmer..... :rolleyes:

Guess I am a "lay" person.

Please tell me how this is possible, I do not believe there is anyway a script can figure out what to enter into that box.

The program will not be time-efficient.
Consider how many operations the script should perform to check one domain.

So are you guys saying someone develops a script that keeps on entering randon letters into the box?

That would take a few years for it to complete a drop list..

Exactly. OCR software usually takes forever to convert graphics
to text.

Now if you consider letters being rotated in random directions,
junk dots in the background and strange fonts, it'll be hard for
even the best OCR program to understand that. heck, even diederik
couldn't do it, and he's plain old human (i think ;) ) .

i suppose it would be most efficient to train a monkey to do
this, but it'll cost you a lot of bananas.
