Hi,
a client of a friend of mine who is a registrar intends to move away his .ru domain names.
The reason invoked is that using a Russian registrar is supposed to help ranking better in Russian search engines.
I guess that it is a nonsense. A Russian Ip may help (although in my opinon it does not change much as the cctld is .ru) but I don't imagine that Rambler would care where the domain is registered.
I would appreciate a hint from people familiar to Russian search engines.
