Has anyone any idea how popular .infos are for type-ins (url typed directly into the address bar).
For example would a domain like computerharddrives.info get any type-ins, or would they all go to computerharddrives.com

How much value is lost if a domain is an info assuming it is an information site?

I dont believe they get any type-ins at all if they aren't developed

i'm starting to see more typeins for .info on overture
nowhere near as many as .com, but i think people are curious about what .info sites resolve regarding popular keyterms. I have
http://l-a.info and it gets a few typeins la.info gets returns on overture but there were never any 2 character new tlds released so there is nothing there...

(type-ins) where .info can potentially catch-up and in some instances even surpass .com in a few short years; this is in contrast to branding where .com is likely to remain "the king" for the forseeable future :D

For instance, its hard to imagine why eventually general public would NOT be typing in Hospital.info (or LasVegas.info, or College.info, or NewCars.info, etc etc) inaddition to (if not instead of) .com.

I hadn't thought of that. S you would expect type-ins to improve as the site start to become developed. I thought that .info was the only one of the new suffixes that was any use and was a bit sorry to see them all gointo domain banks.

.info will enter public consciousness within the next five years & will indeed be associated with a non-commercial/informative site in contrast to what you would expect to see @ a .com(merce) site... hence Type-ins to come ...IMHO :)

The business.info site looks really ugly and making a prime name like that look like something the cat dragged in. What a shame.

I couldn't find a suitable name as a .com or .net and I only managed to find one as a .info. It's about 10th on the overture list, but that seems to be the best available, and I had to use 3 words.
The question now is what do you do with the info bit in the title? Do I use it in full and maybe have to run over 3 lines, or do I leave it short as .info. Another thought is - do I buy the 33 character .com to go with it, 3 words + information.com?
