Whois-Search offers some very interesting pieces of information on his site. And, I suggest you visit it.
They have a section that shows a list of registrars and who they grab for.

"Which registers catch drops and for who ?"
Snaps ---------19.5-----31%
NameWinner----3---------5%
BuyDomains---- 9.5------15%
Indep/Clubs-----30-------48%
I was thinking - Why does NW crab so many? And, are the clubs grabbing that many that I don't realize it.
But, I guess the reason is that Snaps and NW puts all of their effort into those few minutes at drop time. But, the other guys do too.
However, Snap and NW probably have more potential names so their success rate would be higher. And, the clubs probably are less efficient then the other three crabbers.
But, looking at the raw numbers the clubs should have a higher rate of success.
Are the actual catch numbers for Snaps and NW available?
The other two groups would not let that info out.
Should the club business grow in the future? However, WLS could complicate their future business.
And, another observation is that - Why doesn't Enom partner with some of the other registrars to strengthen their position in catching names?
