"An amateur photographer, painter and sculptor who uses the domain name Skyp.com to redirect visitors to Skype.com has won a battle to keep his name. He pointed out that the internet telephony company had accepted him as an affiliate."

denny007, I do not think that a scammer can offer a lawyer because it costs between $10k and more than $50k, you have probably proposed an poor offer and the seller retracted is sale or you did not understand why:

If the seller sold the domain to another person, the new buyer loses the domain in Wipo and also its money because acquired or registered domain is same.

Paragraph 4(b)(i) of the ICCAN UDRP clearly states :
circumstances indicating that you have registered or you have acquired the domain name primarily for the purpose of selling, renting, or otherwise transferring the domain name registration to the complainant who is the owner of the trademark or service mark or to a competitor of that complainant, for valuable consideration in excess of your documented out-of-pocket costs directly related to the domain name

The seller perhaps preferred to cancel the sale not to lose his domain name and you your money... Undoubtedly it is extremely occupied maintaining with skype and did not have time to answer or you did not contact it...

Did you recontact the seller ?

Even if you have really scammed, you would have lost the domain name with wipo and the seller would not have to refund you...

Maybe read full story (our email exchange) - it was obviously scam, not a "retract"
http://www.startseek.com/skyp.com.scam.fraud.html

This happened long time before the WIPO started.

Also buyout.com here on dnf bought it from him on Ebay and the scammer somehow manage to steal the domain back and keep the money.
