____HOUSTON, TX - A new SEO course offered by the College of Continuing Studies at Houston Baptist University will offer an unique insight into internet marketing, website design and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The six-week course will be taught by Houston website marketing specialists Tom King and Philip O'Hara.
"Web marketing is an essential tool in building a successful business," stated O'Hara. "At Directory One, we thrive on teaching individuals and companies how to create a call to action to their website. We are thrilled to be able to offer this course on the HBU campus."
Students will learn internet marketing skills, Search Engine Optimization including domain name considerations, hosting strategies, keyword research, HTML tagging, header utilization, URL extensions, content development and website submission to search engines. Additionally, this course provides a review of Google tools such as iGoogle accounts, AdWords, Analytics, AdSense, and Webmaster Tools.
The course features a high degree of interaction with instructors, and each student will build a small website by utilizing SEO techniques. At completion, students receive "Web CEO Competent Internet Marketer Certification."
The SEO course is open to the general public, current students, faculty, and HBU staff. It runs for six sessions on Mondays: January 26, February 2, 9, 16, and 23, and March 2 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Registration is available by visiting http://www.HBUforLIFE.org/SEO or by calling (281) 649-3700.
