I bought one and am absolutely thrilled by it. Yeah, it's not perfect, but for most people it's a kick ass little gadget.

As far as I'm concerned apple has a hit and sales (500,000 opening weekend alone) speak for themselves. They expect 10 million sold by end of 2008.

Trust me, it's a badd asss phone. I've owned them all, from vertus and noks, motos, even my current pearl bberry. This gadget is TRICK.

Plus, I didn't wait in any line. Walked right into the apple store and bought it in less than 5 minutes. Came home and activated it in another 5. Lked it so much we're going back today to get my son one. Don't hate! Appreciate!

Apple will have to do a lot better than that to crack the UK market. We need UMTS/HSPDA and a forward-facing video camera before the end of the the year. I hope it works out in the UK as I have have 50 .co.uk iPhone primes on the strength of it, plus a 2mp main camera sucks already. My HTC P3600 is already light years ahead overall :)

Edit: Just read the article - that's funny $ideline.

I agree, the 2mp camera is really very slack. Hopefully we will see version 2 with at least 5mp and 3g.

Yes, the HTC Touch is especially cool. I haven't seen it in any store though. Plus, if you can get it "unlocked" it's been my experience that if it's not supported by the network, you can't access all the features.

Apparently the iPhone cannot be unlocked. I say give it a few days and someone will figure it out. It's just like a computer so I don't think it could be that difficult to figure out.

the main good thing is it raises the bar for the real phone manufacturers.
hopefully they will rise to it.
the must haves were always gonna go and buy the iphone. i can wait.
the mark 2 model will bw more likw what i'll buy tbh. also when it comes down in price.
or a razr (which i love) which is brought out in competition to this or another.

How have people been affected by the apple updates? Apparently it breaks your phone if it is unlocked. Anyone in the UK rushing around looking for an iPhone now that they are coming over there?
