Are you referring to a trademark? If you use it in commerce as a product or service, getting a registered mark for it is a wise choice.

You can't copyright a website. If you're looking to protect yourself from someone stealing your content there's not much you can do, but prove its yours after the fact if you decide to sue. Putting a copyright notice at the bottom of a page doesn't stop anyone from taking your work.
