Hi All

I have an odd one - its just a thought so please read and help me decide if it worth trying to sell my domain name. I have spent 2 years developing my website, and it is finished etc, etc. The thing is, the domain name it is on could be potentially valuable. Now I could if I sold my domain name take the site down, spent a few weeks rebranding it to a new name and relaunch it so there is no problem in doing that (apart from revenue loss and relicensing of software / contracts I would have to do), the thing is - would it be worth selling the domain itself?

I tell you why - a big gaming company has just been bought online for $75m.........and of that company name I own the .com
It is the exact domain of the company (I will send more details of the domain and related info upon PM - sorry about being vague but I hope you get the drift)

Is it worth selling - any brokers or valuers have a take on this or can help?

If it is worth my time and temporary revenue loss I will do the site swap and rebrand......any thoughts?

Thanks

Short answer, yes. Longer answer, not yet. If I understand your post correctly, you have the .com of something that someone else is trying to build on. If someone came along and offered you a nice amount then you would relocate, but only if. I wouldn't change a thing now, unless you were thinking of actively trying to sell it to them (and I wouldn't). If they think it would be more valuable to them than to you, I'm you sure that you can have plenty of time to move after the ink on the contract is dry and the check is cashed, and that it would be no problem to give you the time when the time comes. Doing it now just opens a can of worms.
