is .me.uk good for portal ?

I want to register a two word .me.uk,but not sure if it is not commonly used for a portal site.

It's not a popular UK extension, I don't think I have ever seen an advertisement using one! I think a lot of UK web users may even still be suprised to know it even existed.

Maybe in a few years...The .org.uk is popular and well known, I would def reg and use these.

You could use a .me.uk for search engine optimisation if you had a good generic search term...Google does not recognise any difference between .co.uk, .org.uk or .me.uk

.co.uk or nothing in my opinion, at the moment - they just aren't used enough!

Only get .me.uk if you've got your exact keyword you're targetting available on it and plan to get most of you're traffic from organic search engine results in the UK (if you're targeting the keyword black shoes, plan to get most of you're traffic from organic SERPs in the UK, only register .me.uk if blackshoes.me.uk or black-shoes.me.uk is available, otherwise register .co.uk or .com)

I owned SatelliteRadio.me.uk at one point, I let it expire.
