I never heard that they are related but...according to the pic of the man with the gray tshirt in both of the homepages...they could be...

Just wondering...

(maybe they used the same model):cheeky:

I am 99.9% sure they are not related.

But RegisterFly is a HORRIBLE registrar, why you are even on their site is beyond me.

That's a very interesting find:

The images in question:

and

I am fairly positive it's the same guy, but these days even if it is that doesn't really mean anything. All of these people are just paid models anyway.

They just happened to both get the same guy? Unlikely, but it could happen, and by the looks of it, it HAS happened.

Looks like the PayPal image is reversed though. First of all, his watch is on his right hand... but the main reason I think so is because it seems that most laptops have the CDROM drive on the right side. It looks like the same laptop was used in both pictures... He even has the same shirt...

I'd almost go as far as to say that RegisterFly ripped their picture off of PayPal's website, because they are definitely not related at all business-wise, and many times when a big company hires a model, they will have to sign an exclusive contract stating that they won't pose for similar products. This is a general rule set in place to cut down on people confusing whether or not Company A is associated with Company B, etc.

Interesting nonetheless.

:)

Of course not, if they took Paypal they wouldnt be able to overcharge your credit card! :greensigh:

Or as they are trying to do to me right now - charge me for a renewal on a domain that I transfered out of there. Good ol'regfly...

You have to be aware that webdesigners often use the same template pics you've already seen elsewhere over and over ;-)

I would guess is some set from a photobank, if this is true someone @ Paypal was trying to save in a wrong place.

I think they they don´t have enough money to pay for an original design so they share expenses...

In Regflys case, they probably stole the photo. They double bill and steal funds, why stop at a picture?

Two words: STOCK PHOTOS!

They come in 2 categories. "Royalty Free" can be used by anyone, anywhere for anything. At istockphoto.com and similar sites you can buy them for a buck. With "rights managed" photos you get a license for a certain period of time and a certain usage.

I would think a company like eBay wouldn't want to change the photos they use to appear elsewhere and would have either done their own photo shoot with their own models or bought a rights managed pic.

But maybe they didn't think there would be eagle eyes like YOU, ColdGin :D

Well sure, it COULD be a stock photo, BUT, in PayPal's case, (eBay), I find it very hard to believe that they wouldn't get their own exclusive pictures.

For this very reason. That's why I doubt it's a stock photo.
