Yes, I know it. Conglaturation for good name!
I got "karta.net" with SnapNames, actually.

Anyway, NameWinner looks so strong as never before :)

To SnapNames:
Why is namewinner kicking your A**es since the drops started again. I mean, they are completely dominating the drops now and I personally will not buy another snap until your record meets or exceeds NW. Too risky. If you can shed any light on this which will change my mind have at it. @ 69.00 p/snap, and I have many, I feel like I may have wasted my money and Im not happy about that. You guys better get your act together as the whole industry is aware of this fact from what I see on various discussion boards. Your whole business model is in jeopardy. If it doesn't improve soon, you will be forced to charge only for successful snaps like the rest.

Response:
We understand completely your decision and certainly share the concern. We have identified the problem and are working on a solution. It will be a few days to completion and we certainly understand if you defer orders pending an improvement of our service.

In the meantime, some people are getting jacked. If your name is snapped and deletes during their "we are working on it period", oh well. But, it could be a blessing in disquise, as I notice ult aint getting much either.

It's an interesting report.
So, I should say that SnapNames looks so weak as never before ...

I just "lost" a SnapBack yesterday to the BuyDomains, through the registrar "DomainZoo.com". They seem to be working with BuyDomains.com (they list "premium expired names" in their search tools) and are an ICANN accreditted registrar with their own connections to the registry to fully utilize. Mm. If SnapNames can improve their system, that would be great. Has SnapName's patent been approved yet? Regarding the monitoring and/or registration of expired domain names, that would certainly affect the playing field.

Snap is probably so busy catching worthless names for clueless people that they don't need to worry about the big names. It's all the same price to them.

In the past Snapnames was doing a good job. Last week I got
DNAnews.com through Namewinner for $8.75 and the $69
Snapnames did not do anything.

Hi, chatcher

I think so. I snapped 6 domains today.
They got 5 names.
They lost 1 name. "Danao.com"

SnapNames isn't snoozing. They just didn't grab the opportunity during the "no drop period" to improve their system. NameWinner did, and did a pretty good job at that!

namewinner isn't much better than it used to be. All names drop at the same time now. Before, names dropped at times which coincided with their registrar, but namewinner mostly ran in accordance with the networksolutions drop time, which meant they had little chance of getting names that were not registered with netsol. Snapnames had a huge advantage in that they monitored names 24 hours a day. Now, all names drop in the networksolutions timeframe, which is the main reason namewinner is getting more names.

Kidkool,

Yeah, this is one of reason.
But NW tuned up surely. 12 Mar, 11 Mar success rate is not so good than 10,9,8...4
I feel stronger than Owen tuned.(Summer 2001)
11,12 Mar, I felt SN stronger than NW.
Yesterday, I was busy so I could prepare to join the game only 25% checked from the drop list (S to Z)
But it looks they got 2 nice names.

This is my tracker a part of "V"

VERBEN.COM (remove) 52.00 Not Highest Bidder
VICKS.NET (remove) 52.00 Not Highest Bidder
VIDEOGAMERS.COM (remove) 2801.00 PENDING
VIETVOICE.COM (remove) 89.00 Not Highest Bidder
VILLAGECRAFTS.COM (remove) 55.00 YOU GOT IT!
VIRTUALPHARMACY.COM (remove) 708.00 PENDING
VOLTS.NET (remove) 140.00 PENDING
VVNET.COM (remove) 61.00 Highest Bidder

I felt price competition was harder than few days ago.

Agreed.

Another reason why I think Snap is getting hammered
right now is volume. Ever since the drops started people
placed snaps on just about anything, even the really ridiculous,
garbage domains.

I did a fresh scan on yesterdays newly placed on Registrar-Hold
domains (generated from zone file directly). Every domain
with 1000+ linkpops had a Snap on it. Some of them were
Chinese traffic, some were garbage links, and some were
good.

It seems like people got "Domain Hungry" after RGP and
started to snap anything that looked decent. The more
domains snap has to monitor, the smaller the chance of
them catching "your" domain.

Interesting points DomainRetriever.

SnapNames must be happy with the extra income.

Presumably it will only be temporary until the novelty of drops wears off a bit and once the speculators funds for investing start to run out.

If not, then Snapnames would presumably do well to invest some of this extra income in more resources to maintain their competitiveness.
