HELLO ALL :) - Thanks for your time for reading this post.
-=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-

Thought of discussing this important issue, even though i don't know much about what Americans think about it.

FULL NAME: "BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA"

Who is having A problem with the middle name of Mr. Barrack Obama ?

If anyone do have A problem with the middle name of Mr. Barrack Obama, why so ? Because, Barrack Hussein Obama is not an Muslim at all. He is an Christian & HUSSEIN is an Family name which he got from his father/forefathers, etc.

Even if i agree, that for certain reasons few people may/do have an problem with their own presidential candidate's middle name, than I wonder what these same people think about other USA CITIZENS whose name starts or ends with MUHAMMED.

Actually, i went through on various websites/blogs etc., in which people are calling OBAMA A Muslim and questioning his ability to manage oval office & his support to Israel, etc. I mean, why people are calling him A Muslim when he is not an Muslim at all. I think he is an born Christian & he goes to the same church where all Americans goes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wondering, what is the real problem, HUSSEIN or MUSLIM NAME? or its just an political issue made by his opponent/opposition.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do Americans see in presidential candidates?
His Eligibility Criteria OR His Middle Name

Don't know if am asking/posting anything wrong or irrelevant in this post, just want to know what people think about above issues in USA, and HEY, the majority of Domainers are from USA ;)

Am not only asking for views of Domainers, if possible do let us know what people nearby think about this issue.

Thanks in advance for your posts...! :)

The only person that had a problem with Barack Obamas middle name was Barack Obama. He always complained when somebody else used it. Maybe he thought that his middle name would be associated with another Hussein were all familiar with, Saddam Hussein. I think most Americans are concerned more with his own beliefs and politics than his middle name.

It is really amazing what Americans think, say & do. It embarrasses me.
Of course the middle name (& his whole name) mean nothing but I'm afraid the racism & prejudice in America will be difficult for Obama to overcome.

Just watch out for the Obama campaign to use the race card as a guard against people criticizing him on the Issues during the presidential campaign. It happens every election with the Democrats.

We have not seen it used yet, but we sure have seen McCain people get defensive about any language that they interpret as a comment on his advanced age. You might call it playing the "age card".

As for watching out for something, expect McCain to continue to use fear to win the election just as his buddy/not buddy/now buddy again GW used it extensively during his campaign and reign.

Lets just hope the American public are not as gullible and stupid as the GOP Republicans think and hope they are.

It is interesting that a name, given to someone at birth and not of their own choosing, can be manipulated in the publics minds in such a way as to act as a base for mistrust, weariness, accusation, and biggotry. This has occurred throughout history, of course Nazis in Germany often used names (and not just Jewish names) to deride people in the publics minds, how unfortunate that in the largest democracy in the world such a thing should be mirrored.

If anyone has a problem with him just because of his middle name, then they're IDIOTIC LEMMINGS, and make me embarrassed to say that I am an American.

BILLBO, what the hell are you talking about? The only person that has a problem with Barack Obama's middle name is Barack Obama. Give me one instance of were a Republican has used his middle name in a derogatory manner? I don't know anyone who thinks he's a Muslim.

BTW are you saying that if I vote for McCain and not Obama that I'm Gullible and stupid? You don't really buy into the liberal crap that Obama spews do you?

Do you really want me to answer that? Take a WILD guess what my answer would be..

Or you can simply go and search your other posts in Politics threads.. Maybe you'll come to self-realization....

Your right, It's really a "non issue" except for Obama who's trying to make it one. His campaign and supporters would like nothing better than to make it a campaign issue, as well as the media who fans the flames.

Reminds me of the OJ Trial, How the defense team searched for any excuse to play the race card in a desperate attempt to win support and cloud the evidence at trial. Is this how we want to elect our next President? Desperate Democrats and Liberals will use whatever it takes to win, "Anything" but run on the issues that really matter to the American people.

You really need to stop drinking the Obama kool aid. The only realization I have come to is there are to many liberal wackos on this forum.

Firstly bd77 I never, ever, anywhere implied that those who vote for McCain are either 'Gullible or stupid'! Is this a case of trying to imply something was said that blatently was not said?

Now, as to what Republicans have so far said about Barack Hussein Obama. The list is quite long to say the least, may I suggest you start with the name 'Rove'!

However, as of the present polls as shown on RealClearPolitics.com Obama has a clear 6.0% point lead over McCain and even Republican insiders reckon that the General Election could well turn into a landslide against the Republicans with maybe 200 electoral college votes different in favour of Obama over McCain. Also of course down ticket elections will result in many Republican Senators losing their seats in the Senate.

But my original post was taking the broader picture of the initial point raised by the OP. Please note that I personally would have stood up for McCain if similar false accusations were made against him. What is wrong is wrong!

Oh, and by the way, I am a conservative here in the UK and that would mean that I would be considered more Republican than Democrat.

Ok my fault I took what said the wrong way.

OK but did they say something that was proven false? I don't recall hearing people like Karl Rove or other Republicans saying that Obama is a Muslim. Everybody knows he's not.

However, as of the present polls as shown on RealClearPolitics.com Obama has a clear 6.0% point lead over McCain and even Republican insiders reckon that the General Election could well turn into a landslide against the Republicans with maybe 200 electoral college votes different in favour of Obama over McCain. I wouldn't buy to much into poll results. There usually wrong in most cases. This will be a close race as every presidential race has been in the last couple of years.

I still don't see were all these Republicans are using false accusations about Obama. Their just pointing out his very liberal voting record and his very dubious associations with known radicals in his past.

Oh, and by the way, I am a conservative here in the UK and that would mean that I would be considered more Republican than Democrat.

IMO there is a big difference between a conservative in the US and one in the UK and/or Europe.
