One site shows that this domain is 10 years old, another shows that it was created in 99... No backlinks though so the PR is fishy...

Hi,
I purchased a similar pr7 domain on eBay a few months ago.
It sounded strange but I tried it. Now, it is a PR3...

Still not too late to dump Seologs. It's stopped working since couple of months ago.

http://checkpagerank.net/index.php?name=IMediaWorks.com&links=1

Dump? You mean stop using them?

they showed the same results

Search result from Google for: imediaworks.com
not found

Pagerank seems to be forged!

But thanks for pointing that out. I check a few place for PR for a quick look and run some of my own tests/software when I do serious research on a name.

To top it off looks like the seller is using shill-bidders to drive the price up. I'd report it to ebay, but they won't do anything. Much like the nothing they did when I contacted them about fake LLL.com sales.

I used to date a girl that worked for eBay's fraud department. When asked about this crap she smiled and shrugged her shoulders. That's eBay for you.

Notice the picture of what the site used to look like.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/imediaworks.com
Look at the history of the domain name. Has been off line since March 2005.

http://www.urltrends.com/viewtrend.php?url=http://www.imediaworks.com
Look at site stats.

Current Rankings:
PageRank: 8/10
Alexa Rank: Not Ranked

Incoming Google Links: 3,090
Incoming Yahoo Links: 2
Incoming MSN Links: 0
Incoming Alexa Links: 2
Overall Incoming Links: 3,094 (Overlap is possible - Estimated 3,090 unique links)
Outgoing Links: 28 (Ratio: 110.357% - Each Link Receives Approx. 0.243 PR) [ View History

Look where it is parked now:
http://www.imediaworks.com/

Guess who supplies GoDaddy Parked Pages ads? Google.

So how can a domain name or a web site that has been offline, dropped, inactive have a legitimate page rank of seven?

It can't.

PR7 is a fake.
It has been mirrored to leveltendesign.com with a header redirect.

SAD! Winning bid is US $1,225.00 . Poor guy. What a rip off. Most sites on ebay that are selling due to high pageranks are fake a have now noticed. Feel real sorry for the winner.

Well if you are prepared to spend 1200 bucks you should do your homework.

Buyer will pay with paypal, notice the fake PR and demand a refund. Paypal will say :uhoh:, eBay will say :asleep:, so he'll try contacting the seller and they'll claim :?: that they just didn't know. Buyer will be :upset: so let this be a lesson. :)
