Economy is getting worse and one of the big investment companies collapsed.

Do you think it is good time to buy domains or sell domains?

I think it might be good time to buy domains.

I'd say it's a good time to buy up two word generics.

I think it's a good time to buy & also develop. While the market is soggy, people can make residual income, log the success and when the market is feeling better. Sell

The equation is simple, the market's are dead (valley) so prices are low.....

Good time to invest in Stocks, Real Estate and of course Domains!

Advertising payout maybe low for the time being, but the domain prices will also be low as almost everyone who is affected by the downfall in some way or the other will need money.......CASH needs to be injected into the markets, and the ones who do so will always benefit from such Market collapses........

Remember Meltdowns are grand investment times, but the idea is to stay invested after doing so.............

Regards,
Aditya

Just my 2 cents...( make that one and a half, markets are down you know :) )

IMO it is a good time to:

Dump the junk, either sell at a low profit, sell at a loss (it's better to sell a domain for $3 than to let it drop for $0), and then develop what is left.

I've (tried to) drop many domains this year (some actually successfully) but the ones I'm keeping are either making $ on revenue or are, or going to be, developed.

But, now, as usual, is the time to buy, sell, and develop, you just need to put the right names in the right bucket.

It's the best time to:

1. NOT invest in stocks
2. HOLD onto domains

As for buying, that depends on your financial cushion. The domain market is healthy.

GOOG is about 3X overpriced.

It's a very expensive and volatile stock.

If you *must* buy stock, I'd focus on the sub-$10 deals right now. E.g. AMD is under $5 - the company won't go out of business as the sector needs competition for Intel.

In regards to the stock market and real estate industry - when the fear is abundant, that is the time to buy. Now is the time to buy, Buy, BUY! If you have the cash, buy in increments to cost average. I've taken my lumps before during these times, getting used to it and wish I had more cash to buy.

As for domains, no time like the better to Buy Now.

Election years are great for investing, especially when the "tide" may change - history is on your side, let's hope the future is as well.

Cheers.

This is true about AMD - Intel can not let this company fall.
They may give them some steroids to keep them alive. (but may not care for the thealth of that company - limping dog status)

Will look in to buying this stock.

Acro: come on man, prices are based on the amount of shares outstanding and lot size. By your calculations, brk-a is overvalued? Let's keep our feet on the floor, domaining is just one more industry and is going to be hit by the crisis.
