I've sold only 2 previous names with Sedo, but it was absolutely an unforgettable experience. The first took over a month to transfer (it was a US buyer, and I'm also in the US).

On the 2nd, the buyer tracked me down via the Whois and asked
me for help because Sedo wanted his GoDaddy Username and PASSWORD!

Now I've been contacted by Sedo stating that they can't begin the
transfer process for my 3rd name over to the buyer until I extend the registration of the name.

The expiration is over a month away!

Now I don't mind spending an extra $9 to get the deal done, but when I sell a name, I'm assuming the purchase is made "as-is". I'm also assuming that Sedo can get this done in less than 30 days.

Am I wrong in this?

You are right.
Sedo is really slow lately. I don't know if it is the summer vacations or something but I don't like it.

I closed the deal for a domain on the 27th of July. Domain expired 3 days ago. I renewed it. Still waiting for sedo.

[ Better than nothing ]

Some people complain that Sedo was slow...

Let's say, if you could meet the potential buyer of your domains somewhere else easily, okay, you may complain, even close your Sedo's account...

As there are millions of domain want to find the buyer, also Sedo have so many clients...

Sedo works as a domain broker, they could get 10% commision on each sales, so, I believe that they likes to make every transfer faster to close the bid then get the commision, if possible.

If Sedo really can help you to find the domain buyer faster, stay there and Good Luck ! If not, then leave it.

[ Better than nothing ] - my personal opinion. :)
