http://www.ooze.com/finger/html/random_famous.html

I had Johnny as my avatar. Nobody ever complained about it. Along comes admin MediaHound who independently decides it's offensive and that I need to change it. I changed the middle finger to a fist. It's sooo small you could hardly see the middle finger anyhow. With the editing, you couldn't see it AT ALL.

Without notice, my avatar was deleted. What kind of BS is that?

Yes, I know the rules, etc., but tell me...considering the above, was this avatar offensive to anyone? Is it anymore offensive that some of the ones with GUNS or other motifs that could be construed as "offensive."

Help me to understand how sending somebody a vibrator (with nuts I might add) for $500 dnf as a gift isn't offensive, but Johnny shaking his fist is.

I know, it's just an avatar, change it. Today it's just an avatar...what will be the issue tomorrow? Hopefully, it will be equally important.

http://www.nashvilletv.com uses that picture as it actually the message most artists have in their hearts for Nashville and the country music scene. It is a classic. Johnny Cash knows. Just use the face, everyone knows the picture.

Johnny and the finger...well, thats such an iconic image that I find it hard to believe anyone would find it offensive. Johnny Cash was a great artist, and I think his finger meant a lot more figuratively than it ever could literally

I think with all the changes with DnForum, the image is trying to be kept as a professional place to come to learn, buy, and sleep, domains. Not to mention all the PR they have been receiving lately.

I find YOUR avatar extremely offesive. Reminds me of the Grim Reaper or the Unabomber. It's NOT professional at all. I demand a picture of yourself in a coat and tie not hidden behind rolling numbers in a hooded cloak of offensive vile unprofessional secrecy. OK JUST KIDDING, but see what I mean? It's just subject to interpretation. If it were directed at somebody with the intent to harm, I'd understand, but it's a famous, famous picture. If I use a picture of the statue of David, would that be offensive or art?

Seriously, it's just BS. The admins and mods should focus on REAL issues, not create them.
