At the beginning of December 2002 I registered the domain ISPScode.com.

This refers to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code which was being put before the IMO (International Maritime Organisation) later that month for discussion / formulation and is proposed to come into effect in July 2004.

Following the terrorist incidents in the US, the code will have probably the biggest impact on shipping worldwide and particularly in the US since the introduction of the ISM (International Safety Management) Code in 1998.

As the domain was registered before the wording of the Code was formalised (even though the phrase was being used at that time in the shipping world, including on the IMO website), does anyone foresee any legal problems?

Many thanks in advance for any comments.

I'd set up an information site now, and put some links to relevant sites on it.

I set up an information site for "difficult" names which is in it's temp. home at

I understand that this sort of approach MAY be permitted.

Lawyers seem to have conflicting views over this. They agree that it is risky to do it, but some think that it will be allowed.
