I've seen some Italian and other European domains that require the domain owner's company to be located in italy. What happens if you register it and you live in the US? Would they find out? Would anything happen? I'm just curious, cause there are a LOT of open domain names there...

.it Italian domains are open for registration to any European Union person or company. If you meet these criteria, only then you can register a .it domain.

Then you can register for some mail forwarding service in europe, and use that address to register the domain.

Last time I checked they ask for your ID # during the registration.

Hi, the Italian registry requires a signed standard letter plus they do check.

If you claim fake details you risk the domain being cancelled anytime.

I`m italian and italian words are pretty much all taken so I don`t know what you`re talking about.
