Nope, I sure can't, it's the single most frustrating part of the domain industry. 75% of all sales make absolutely no sense.

Overpaid, .org tld lacks recognition here in France and plural jeux.org would have been better.

I know it's always frustrating to see things like that happen on sedo.

I was happy to see a sale like that :) I own several 3 letter .org's, not like they mean Game in french, but there were several other nice .org sales as well.

But I doubt if the French use .org extension very much. I am sure they mostly know about .com and .fr

Anither reason the sale seems high is because "J" is a poor letter for acronym use, IMO.

Looks like an expensive buy to me, for the reasons detailed above.

I don't think it's out of line, I mean it does mean 'Game' in French.

according to Wikipedia there are 350 million french speakers in the world, and less than 100 million in France alone, so I wouldn't look at this sale in terms of just one country.

'expensive' is a relative term, if a French media company bought it, the price to them probably wasn't expensive. If the average person bought it for investment, then maybe it would be expensive to them.

look at what ireport.com sold for, if someone wants a name bad enough they might be willing to even overpay.
