Just a heads-up. Something to be watching.

Two names that I had snaps on, expired in 2000 sometime and have both been changed very recently.

The 2000 expiration dates had been extended another 2 years, so these names have a Dec 2002 expiration date instead of Dec 2000.

Anyone have an idea whats going on with these ?

Brujah,

I can assist in an explanation if you give me one of the names. It was possibly stolen, but I can check if you wish.

I'm keeping an eye on the changes, will let you know what happens to the names when its no longer lame delegation.

Noticed the absence of a phone number and the 6 digit "code" too? DR's agreement, like others prohibits false Who Is data and they reserve the right to delete the domain. Clearly, there is a legal angle that is possible here.

You're talking about the stolen names I think from the other thread ? Yeah, I've noticed those too.. no phone #, using free email addresses ( yahoo, excite, hotmail ), non-US address, 6 digit "code", and always with DotRegistrar ?

You are the first to corroborate the 3 ton stinking elephant sitting in the middle of this forum...

Lame delegation in this context appears to be a way to allow domains to be deleted when there are nameservers based on the domain, and there are still references to these nameservers from other domains...
