In the past few years i have never needed advice re: copyright infringment etc etc however to my disbelief, i have receieved this email as the trailing link shows.

a bit of background.

i own Leaguetalk.com , a forum open for members to discuss all thing Rugby League in Australia. My site Leaguetalk.com will show you a forum along with logos of each team etc etc along with 1000+ members.

the site has been running for 2 years or so without any problems however i just receive a bodgy looking word doc with obvious legal mentions regarding logos used as well as other "amongst other things" included in the act now section.

whilst i must admit i the use of the logos as well as the official NRL (australian NRL LOGO), 100's of other sites use them as well.

can someone assist with aussie copyright etc etc

it may also be noted thatthe official NRL.com site actually quoted my forum recently regarding one of the member posts ?? link at end for pdf

help is needed and appreciated guys/gals, so respond as soosn as you can.

Legal Letter

NRL.com quoting my site

cheers

IMHO,
Get rid of the NRL and team logos pronto, mate, or you are up the proverbial creek in a barbed wire canoe without a paddle.
Stick a statement on the home page that the site is not affiliated with the NRL
Write to the Minster Ellison and tell them that you have complied with their request

Take it as a compliment that they picked on your site
The AFL are even more rigorous than the NRL in protecting their logos
Have a look at sainters.com
No logos and a disclaimer at the bottom of the home page
Its all about money mate
How else are they gunna charge $140 for a footy jumper if they don't protect their logos

Might want to check that it's genuine before going to a lot of trouble.

the legal site looks a lagitimate one, so i have complied with their requests and have also sent a copy of all emails to the official nrl.com to request confirmation of their actions.
