So guys..

The holidays are over, the USD is getting rapidly stronger (strongest USD vs EUR in 7 months), the oil prices are dropping, hurricane Gustav didn't cause as much damage as expected (God bless), noone remembers what the Snowe bill was all about  and the continuously failing new ICANN extensions can confirm once and for all that no matter what ICANN tries to make money on next, the ever-so-solid .com, .net and .org extensions will still be king!

The prices are still low, but I expect (and hope) that the market will get back to normal within the end of September.

So, if you still have some funds left; better grab some of the bargains still available before we see another market boom.

Despite the last couple of months recession, I believe that the rest of 2008 will be great for us domainers.

It's time to start working again guys and gals. :eek:k:

Definitely without a doubt, I see the value of NNNNN.coms and CVCV+S.com will rise to another level to at least $50+ a pop.

A month or two ago, USD hit a record-breaking low against the Norwegian NOK, where 1 USD = 4.94 NOK. Today 1 USD = 5.50 NOK!

That's almost 0.60NOK/$1USD profit for each domain I purchased a couple of months ago.

Since I started this thread less than 2 hours ago the USD has increased another 0.04NOK. 1USD is now 5.54NOK.

Oil getting hammered today... this is a great sign...

The sooner OIL drops below $100 a barrel....the higher the value of USD rises.

Actually it's the other way around. The reason why oil was so expensive is because it was traded in US dollars and when the dollar is worth less, it costs more to buy the oil (to convert into the same amount of money to the country it is coming from).

It was a great time for non-US based domain investors to buy domains from US owners but now with the dollar gaining, it's getting to a time for US domainers to start looking at owners outside the US once again.

I think domaining is a circle...the prices rise up again soon.
I hope the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. help this.

It seems that the end user market remained consistent throughout. It's the sales between domainers that have tapered off.

Definitely and don't forget that for most of us 90% of sales/purchases is with other fellow domainers. So, the only reason the current market is slow, is because we are not buying as much as we usually do. If everyone starts buying again, then the market will be back up. The end-users will still be there and they will be there for years to come, but the domain market in general is based on the domainers themselves.

The global economic "slowdown" has made us all a little afraid to invest our funds, but now when the economy is peaking upwards again, hopefully most of us will grow our balls back. ;)

Great words Stian!
Endusers don't run...I think in 2009 we will see many major sales.

Domains are one of the best investment vehicles around. Buy quality like you would with any investment and hold on for the ride. Poker out :)

I expect things to get back on track as we move into the holiday spending season.

Right now is a good market to buy for invesment and for flipping inventory.

Good time to be a LLL.com buyer as well. Have you noticed some of the bargains lately? :) As soon as I get some funds in now, I will stock up on all the bargains I can find.

LLLL.com prices are very low right now , it's not a problem to buy a crappy ones below 20$ , I remember about 6 month ago the worst llll.com cost about 65$

Prices for NNNNN.com are low too , from 15-20$ they dropped to 7-8$

LLL.com drop it's prices for about 15-20%

I think it will take about 3-4 month for prices to be recovered
